2010 Pride Song

The 2010 Stockholm Pride Song

The 2010 Stockholm Pride Song is a dancey up-tempo piece performed by none less than Ankie Bagger and "Farmer" Peter Gustafsson. True to the theme of this year's festival, the song is about the power of love!

It is a tradition of Stockholm Pride to have its own song launched during the festival week. Some of these songs have become national hits, such as last year's Casey, Hold On by Marit Bergman. This year, the torch is carried on by Ankie and Peter. Ankie says:

– Stockholm Pride is very important and I support the message to 100%! That's why I feel honored to do the Pride Song and it''s great to get to do it together with my good friend Peter. To me it goes without saying that you can be the way you are and be in live with whomever you want.

Ankie Bagger had her break through in the late 80's. First she was seen behind the disco duo Lili & Susie (Oh Mama, Boyfriend, What's The Colour of Love). Then she went on to her own solo success with the hit Where Were You Last Night. Peter Gustafson became known to the Swedes through his participation in the TV show Farmer Seeks Wife. The Pride Song is not the first collaboration for Ankie and Peter. Last year the duo released the single "Du kan inte lura mig" (You Can't Trick Me).

Ankie and Peter will perform the song during the opening of Pride Park 28 July and during the Parade Gala 31 July.

The team behind the song is called Zaphire Group. The music is composed by Ulf Ekwall and Fredde "Francis" Jernberg. Ekwall has also worked with Safura, known for the Azerbaijan contribution to the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Jernberg has written and produced for the super boy group Backstreet Boys. The lyrics have been written by Charlie Mason.
