Therese Grankvist
Therese Grankvist is most synonymous as the Queen of House music, having topped the charts on several occasions. Her popular vocals can be heard wrapped around the drums and synths of the best DJ sets across the world’s nightclubs, floating effortlessly across dance genres, from edgy electro-pop to upfront rockin’ vocal house.
Most notable was Therese’s collaboration with Swedish DJ Stonebridge, dropping the effervescent hook ‘Put Em High’ above the track’s running beats and funky loops to create a truly modern classic dance hit for a new generation of 21st century clubbers. Her anthemic tribute was born not to look to the past (“I don’t care where you’ve been before”) but to embrace the today, the here and now, and discover love in who or whatever is important to you at that moment. The record would go on to dominate both the dance and pop charts across the globe, and continues to receive massive airplay today.
What followed were numerous other club and pop smashes, from her UK Top 10 record ‘Take Me Away’ to a sublime cover of the massive ‘Bodyswerve’, via another UK Number 1 Dance Chart hit with ‘Feelin Me’ (for which London’s urban radio station Kiss FM proclaimed her the ‘Queen of Electro’). And did we mention the massive club hits ‘Time’ and ‘Neon Lights’? These songs have seen Therese perform some of the biggest music events in the world: from the Miami Winter Music Conference to legendary clubs like Spain’s SuperMartXé, via the fabulous Sydney Mardi Gras.
